Over the last few years I really haven't been thrilled with 4bi9 movies, I thought they were solid but nothing memorable, they were starting to get away from their really Hood "Look it up" days. In the days before the SLC premier I had heard they were going back to their roots a little bit in their up coming movie, this got my hopes up but I refused to let my expectations get too high and be disappointed.
Begging for Change blew my expectations out of the water, it has the feel of all of their old stuff from when Steve and Tom first started riding on them, with one major difference, Cinematography. Where as in the past they always had great riding the filming was always meh or for you sticklers really rather lacking. This movie every shot was well thought out and well done and added to the tricks and overall feel of the movie, and I have always liked their editing with no exceptions this year.
As always the riding was top notch, Stand out segments were Mcchesney as expected, Nicky Keefer absolutely killed it, and more great riding from Wallisch. Other stand outs off the top of my head were Collin Collins and John Ware. Though these are the standouts, almost every segment was sick. My only gripe was the friends segment, I am never big on random riders I haven't heard of but Nick Mcnutt killed it. I had never heard of him but he was a bright spot in the friends segment. Another disappointing aspect for me was the Steve was hurt, though his two shots made up for it a little bit and that is obviously out of their control.
Though I went into the night waiting anxiously for After Dark I left with a GREAT taste in my mouth from Begging for Change.
