What did your first time feel like?

Discuss a memorable first time you had skiing. First time hitting a jump. First time jibbing something. I know this is NS so im gonna get interesting responses. Also post what goes through ur head right before you try a new trick or do something u have never done. I always get nervous like the first 5 times i do something.

Just kidding. The first time I went skiing I crashed into the mesh fence when I got off the lift. Complete gaper status. Twas funny at the time and even funnier now.

First time riding a chairlift and my jacket got hooked on one of the bars. I ended up hanging there for about a minute before falling about 10 feet.

I cried and that was the end of that day. Fortunately my pops maid me try again.

getting on teh chair lift i fell it ran me over then once i got off and started down the hill i couldnt figure out how to turn and smacked right into the lift tower

i remeber doin the bunny slope and seeing some snowboarder break her wrist

also i remember trying a small 5 foot cliff in the woods and i leaned too far forward and went head first into a patch of trees and shrubbs. it hurt.

cant remember my first time skiing but i remember my first time on twins. we were at a drinking/skiing holiday and i rented a pair of twins cause i had seen people with em b4 and tought about giving it a try. i saw a guy hitting this downrail with skis and i tought it cant be much harder than with a skateboard.. well the first time went well, i made it all the way down without falling, and thats when i was hooked.
i ended up breaking the rental skis bindings during the first day, and broke another binding on the last day trying 360s.
the shop wasnt to pleased

First time I clicked in my parents hadn't rented me poles, and I kept falling over trying to stand still and click into both skis.

first time landing inverted tricks...I did a lincoln loop on the first jump in the line. I was soo stoked I did them on every jump that run.

i remember after my first 3 i was so stoked i skied down to my friend and i was screaming like OH MY GOD DID YOU SEE THAT!!??!?!? i was pretty happy i think

I got turned around somehow while in ski school on the bunny hill.  I was cruising down backwards for awhile before a ski instructor caught me.  They tried to move me down a level afterwards but I threw a tantrum and refused to do anything.

First time I landed a backflip it was the most unreal experience. I was ecstatic. Definitely the most proud of anything i've ever accomplished skiing. If I could get that stoked about anything in real life, I could probably do anything.

first time i skied I was three (or four?) I couldn't stop and kept hitting the hay bails at the bottom of the bunny hill. I cried.

I don't remember shit about my first time on skis, I was way to young, but apparently it was good enough, because it has permanently been engrained into my brain. Same goes for jumps, they just progressively got bigger.


The first time I hit a box, it hurt like fuck. I slid out and didn't even fall on the box, I fell off the side, and then the snow deck the box was on. But I got back up and stomped it.

Cowboy dad took me one day complete with hat, flanel, and ,oh yes, jeans. He took a half days worth a runs to teach me to snowplow and turn. He spent the rest of the day in the lodge and I burned laps all day. Even hit some of the bumps the snowboarders built. Hooked.

And tommy ellingson taught me my first rail slide. Thanks Tommy!

first time on skis i took 5 runs on the bunny hill then tried spinning, then tried skiing switch without twin tips and ate shit

The most memorable moment when I finally sacked up and sent it of what was I think a ten foot cliff. Landing that felt so sick, and I still get the same rush.

Well this last season I kinda sucked so I started getting the mentality that I wouldn't get very good, but this summer was the first time I landed a cork seven, I actually stomped so smoothly and it was the best feeling ever, I was so stoked, also my first rail I ever grinded was so eye opening and got me sucked into skiing park.

I don't remember much about my first time downhill skiing other than that it was on a rope tow and nothing really that interesting happened.
What goes through my head right before I do something new is actually nothing. Not a damn thing. I think about what I need to do before and as I drop in, but when I get onto the wedge, it's completely instinctive.

first thing i ever slid was a 12ft shotgun pvc in a park, i probably tried 80 times before i got it, and when i got it  I was stoked beyond belief.
