lwell its our problem if were not there... but still, they should understand that it happens to be late.

I strongly disagree with you and approve of professors doing this. The professors are taking their unpaid at-home time to create a lesson plan. They count on all students being there on time, ready to be engaged. A good lesson plan builds on itself and has interaction. If you miss the first 15 minutes of class, you are unprepared for the rest of the class. You are now a distraction. Not only are you distracting coming in late, but you now cannot participate. This is a matter of mutual respect. Be on time or don't come. Every classroom door should be locked exactly one minute after class start time.
As far as your other classes and work schedule, this is your responsibility. You are no longer at home with mommy to hold your hand and tell you what to do. Welcome to the real world. Manage your time effectively or understand that college is not for you. To expect a professor to make your schedule and the schedules of everyone else in class work for both him and you is obscene. You signed up for the class and knew exactly what you were in for and where and when it meets. Deal with it or make me a burger. And yes, I would like fries with that.
