Shaving off the topsheet on the tip and tail

So I took sandpaper to the topsheet and sanded it down so its nice and rounded and it helps so much from top sheet chipping! I will do this do to all my skis now and yes, I did have nine lives before and seriously did like them. I felt like they could snap so I kept it in the back of my mind. I loved how light they were, medium flex with rocker makes them perfect, and soo fast being how narrow they are. But not super durable...

Do this for skis with sandwhich construction, you don't really need to for cap. I do it only where it is already chipping so it doesn't get worse, but some people do it for the whole ski so it doesn't happen at all

what year nine lives did you have? not sure if they only made them for one year or not. I just bought these ones

Yeaaa, those the ones. If you dont do very big jumps and this is 100% park, youll like them. I got mine for a little under $200 new, its the reason I bought them. So ya, be nice to them knowing there not the most durable ski out there and sand the sides of the topsheet!

Thats a surface shaver. Good tool to have in your tuning arsenal.

how long have yours held up?/ how aggresive of a park skier are you?

Ok, Im 17, 150 pounds, aggressive park skier, and skied these since Thanksgiving to July 3rd like every weekend and when school breaks come around, more so. They held up enough to last the whole season but there pretty much done now. Never snapped them like some people did but i do had a very small crack above the toe of my binding but not a big deal. I skied these hard, have a ton of edge cracks, top sheet chips off but not so bad if you sand it down. I loved them, there soooo light its insane, and for the price, get them. Be nice to them and if your not the best skier at your hill and doing 40ft+ jumps theyll be fine. Dont worry too much, unless your just a total G and doing dub corks and shit
