Anybody got any marketing ideas for baby boomers and electronics?

Specifically, I have an app I am developing that is healthcare related. It is slightly different than most of the other apps in its vein, although I want to market it in a way that its completely unique (seeing as that will probably be the key to attracting this generation's money).

How do I attract business to this app? I am aiming for anyone around 40+, although it does seem like the baby boomer generation will be the most likely demographic I am angling for (65-45 years of age).

I need to do this with no money.
I am aiming for 65-45 year olds with smartphones (iPhones)
They have health problems that they are treated for.

They don't use twitter. They use facebook but its uber expensive to advertise there. Traditional mediums (print, TV) are good but also prohibitively expensive. Trying to get on Dr. Oz is like winning the lottery.

+k for any ideas. I don't expect too many answers but hey, you never know!

the no money part makes this very tough, as you know.


guerilla marketing is your answer. let me explain ...

-You could try going to places where older folks hang out....golf courses, casinos, active adult communities, and get your word out there. talk to people, show them the app in person and explain.

if you can just convince a few to listen, they may tell their friends and as we all know, word of mouth works wonders

So far this has been about what I have thought of. I have thought of trying to include Primary Care Physicians, but they are inundated by reps from every company, I doubt I would stand out (more like look at the crazy young person!).

there is a reason why no one advertises for free...... because its not free.

getting your name, or in this case your app out there cost money.

Im not sure how successful this would be, money and development aside, simply because the vast majority of baby boomers either doesnt have a smart phone, or has one and either doesnt know how to use or doesnt download apps. Could you honestly see your grandparents getting on their droid to find out what meds they're taking?

they are not our grandparents. AARP (which is almost exclusively market-research driven) states that there will be a large market share of baby boomers using apps by 2012, and almost all by 2020. So I believe the market is there.
