Stoke meter just went threw the motha fucking roof. Pictures on there facebook. Looks like its gonna be cold enough to start making snow in the high country.

I'm not from CO, but I go to my grandparents house out there and it's right near loveland so I ski there a few days a year. been looking through their pictures and realized I've never seen the ground before haha.

Cool. So now Colorado folk can brag about how amazing the land-locked state is while they ski down an icy ribbon of man made shit, and then wait in line for 40 minutes because there is only 1 run open. Might as well ski on the east coast.

cool total snowfall accumulation map (click to make it bigger). that red dot in SW CO is 10 inches of accumulation, looks to be in the silverton area. getting sooo close

It's a marketing ploy. Whatever resort can get their guns on first gets a ton of attention and free advertising from various media outlets.

It's not because it's actually sensible for them to do so... It's cause you make posts like this about it and everyone hears about Loveland.

Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked too, but the fact that I can look out and see snow on the mountains and pretty much every buyers guide are out is plenty. Keep the guns off till the snow will stick around and save some water/electricity. But hey, smart marketing is smart marketing, and when your competition is Vail Resorts, you do what you have to do.
