GIRLS SKIS - Armada ARW/Salomon Galaxy?

My wife demoed to Mai tais for two days last year in the canyons.....she liked em more than her roxy broomstix pros but now she's on some all other thing....she's been watching my progression of style and has been riding my old skis as I have gotten new ones....I personally have been spending less and less time in the park and she's obviously been following that as well.....I went from chronics to chronic cryptos to SFBs and now to the opus....so I've been on a wider underfoot progression....it's a totally different feel and style and isn't for everybody but I'll convey anyway for broadening horizons purposes....haha....so anyway....my wife was rockin my cryptos quite a bit and started to really like the 92 underfoot....obviously they were a touch long for her but she liked em more than the Mai Thais....after I got last years bacons and started running them through the park she immediately wanted to demo the pandoras....that's when she fell in love....she bought em after only a few runs and hasn't looked back....now I know that thing is wide and is marketed as a pow ski but if ya get a chance, demo them and run em through the park....trust me.....whenever my wife does and hits the big boy booters on em, we always get stopped in the lift line for like ten minutes with peeps askin questions about em....if your a super tech jibby type than their not for you but if your into big floaty airs/backcountry booters/drops/trees.....get those skis....they're magical.....her cousin is real damn good and rides nothin but guys skis....she tried my wife's pandoras for a run through the park, a run through the trees, and then for the heck of it down a mogul run....well by that time it was lunch and she had me drive her down the mountain to the first shop that had the pandoras and bought em on the spot....lol....they're a no joke ski for chicks.....

My lady is on ARWs and really loves them. She has a pair mounted up alpine & tele, and wouldnt go with any other ski

There fairly differnt skis overall. The ARW now has the 50/50 sidewall cap construcion. The glaxay is full sidewall. The ARW is much softer. Partly thanks tothe cap tip and tail the tip and tail are very soft and buttery. Its a miduim stiffness under under so stability is ok, especially if your small. The Galaxy, which is a new ski not last years mai tai, is stiffer. Its similar to the suspect. Lots of pop and great at higher speeds. Not as playfull at slower speeds so not as much as a jib ski as teh ARW. On bigger jumps, pipe and all mountain they are very stable.

Overall if you prefer a softer jib ski to be good at rails and med to large jumps the ARW will be better. If you prefer a stiffer ski for Large or XL jumps and large rails then you may prefer the Glaxay. But try to demo them and you will know for sure.

line isn't easy to get here where I live, I've only seen line men's skis, and I wanna ride on girls skis because I have a light weight so a women ski would make sense.

so the arw sounds more playful on rails and stuff like that....but what about lasts year's ARW? I think I would get that one cause this years model is just so expensive...last years would be like 180 dollars less or something. I've heard that they changed up the construction this year, so I'm wondering how that difference between last years ARW and this years ARW feels when riding it...

The ar50 construction of this years arw will make the swing weight lower because there is cap in the tips and tails. They will be alot easier to spin and will feel lighter. If you didn't have a problem with spinning the old models then it's all preference.
