Terragen Thread

I've seen many fascinating pictures in a lot of trance music videos on youtube, and i was wondering how they were made. well... it turns out that there is a program dedicated to making landscapes like this and its free.
Its called "terragen" and I'm sure that someone on this site has to do this or something along the lines of it. I'm just starting out so any tips/pointers would be great.
Also please post up your pictures!
