I took the SAT twice and the ACT once. Satisfied with my scores and im applying to Weber State university next week. Super stoked, can't wait to just be done with high school!

1930 SAT trying one more time in october to do better then applying to boston u and college, pitt, villanova, providence college, U of delaware, Loyola maryland, UVM, u of scranton (dad works there)....is it worth it to try the ACT? im debating.

im going to most likely sign up for it. its a lot stronger in math and science, so if those are your strong subjects, you should. SAT is to see what you can do in college, while act tests what you have learned in highschool.

Took the ACT yesterday and hopefully it can be my last time. I'll be applying to CU Boulder, CSU, U of Utah, MSU Bozeman and a few schools in the midwest.

could go the route of Colorado Mountain College, CMC, and getting some credits done, establishing residency, and skiing a lot
then transfer into CU, CSU, etc.

A 1940 on the sat is really good, im stupid and got 1430. Im applying for UW, WSU, SPU, PLU, and San Diego State. Im not christian if your wondering and I got the GET plan for my college. Anyone in washington state have this?

I think maybe you should get smarter... KM let me know where you get in, I'm gonna be a freshman at Stanford and I have friends at almost all of those other schools. Your list is almost the same as mine was last year haha. And I know we have at least 1 dartmouth kid on here

yeah sorta haha, I had the grades and extracuricculars but I think that probably helped too haha. I wanna say will start goes to LMU but I'm not totally positive. Good luck to everybody though, applying to college is definitely an exciting experience

My dad got his PhD at Dartmouth. It's a pretty legit place. Campus is old New England, kind of nice. They have good scholarship programs, too- or they used to.


I'm applying to UW, MSU Bozeman (or whichever has the engineering school), U of Utah, maybe CU Boulder, U Portland. My research isn't even fully complete. With a 3.76 and 2000 on the SAT I think I have a good chance of getting into some good places.

ACT: 31

Possible Major: Civil/Mechanical/Environmental Engineering, Business

Looking at Olin, Deep Springs, University of British Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, UVM, maybe Wharton, keep forgetting the schools i want to check out/schools i can get into.  i really haven't a clue.  not sure if i should take the tests again either, your thoughts K_M?

^ that's a solid score, if there's any section you thing you could do better on then take it again. I got a 2240 on my first time but only got a 710 in math which should have been my strongest section so I took it again.

did you do better the second time?  thats a pretty damn good first score.  I could've done better on the writing, have the potential to ace the math, but i'm not sure if i'd do as well as i did on the reading.  i have to take the math II and physics subject tests, but might be able to retake it in november.  considering it, i would like to break 2200.

yeah they take the best score of each section. so its best if you take it more than once.

yeah man i get that.  the tests are way too damn long for being timed.  i feel physically drained after i get out of them, isn't how it should be.  wasn't going to retake them, but i probably will now.  could definitely do better on the act, didn't know that the science was going to be all graph bullshit.

at least with AP's and IB's you can see some sort of sense out of the whole thing, paying 80 dollars for a test rather than 500 per credit hour in college.  SAT's are just a number we're using to get into college and will be meaningless afterwards.

just signed up for the oct. 22 ACT, signing up for the nov. 5th SAT.  ugh, hell all over again.

This whole thread just got me real stressed about getting into colleges...the process is way too complex and if I dont get into my schools of choice ill be so pissed. i thought i was good with a 1930 (1280) but it looks like ill have to do better this last time on Oct. 1

Also, who took the ACTs? I signed up to take them once (oct. 22) just to see if i do any better so any tips from those who took them?
