Replying to How Quickly Something You Love Can Change.
Recently one of my very close friends and one of the most progressive skiers i've ever known was just involved in an accident that could change his whole life. Last year he started out the season only knowing how to do things like 720's and rails. But throughtout the year he pushed himself so hard that he taught himself how to do just about every trick in the book. Misty 9, rodeo 9, etc. Right when winter was over we were informed by our local mountain about remoldeling and how they are getting a bag jump. Instantly the hype train around my town was at full speed for winter. My friend was probably the most stoked out of all of us. Everyday he was telling us about tricks he was going to throw. We would all hangout and he would show us his dub cork 14's on the tramp bragging about how he's gonna stomp them this year. But yesterday everything changed. It was just a normal day jumping on the trampoline. Not pushing himself at all just doing trick that are normal for him but still very complicated. dubs left and right. Everything seemed fine until he threw a trick and got lost in the air and landed on his neck. He was air lifted into dartmouth hospital. we were recently informed that he broke his neck and is paralyzed. The doctors are saying that he has a very low chance of recovery. All his family and friends can do now is pray for his wellbeing. I wanted to share this story with newschoolers to tell you that you don't know what is gonna happen. Life is so unpredictable and evil. I hope Everyone on NS will help your fellow slayer and hope and prey that David Hudgik is going to be alright.
