I posted this in the video section but didn't get much for feed back. Would be really stoked if you guys could give me some constructive criticism, especially regarding the editing. Thanks
Okay, not horrible, we have seen worse here on NS. The song is okay, there is alot going on in it, rap and the techno are okay kinda. Last two shots are overexposed, you need to darken them a wee bit, that sun is super bright. And at 1:32 - 1:33 you or skier afterbanged way to on purpose, which in my mind is dumb.
I thought the skiing was super sick, that first rail was de-capped by Absinthe Films right?
I felt like the song didn't match your style of skiing very well. It was a easy choice to edit to, due to the pronounced kick and snare, but some of the cuts were a bit sloppy, or you cut on the quieter clapping noise. It looks like you ski to have a good time, so something a bit more peppy would have been my choice.
This! and also on the first few shots on the first rail the camera audio was a bit too high, it kind of mixed in with the song so just turn that down a bit!
The skiing for sure is pretty on point in this edit, the song choice, in my opinion sucked. White rappers, that rap to techno/ dupstep beat dont really mash well. The opening shots where a bit bland, you wanna try and make the opening match to the beat a bit more. Like when the beat drops or thumps, change the clip or have a motion that is representing a thud. Therefore your edit will have more life and flow a lot better. Also, I find the best edits have scenic and artistic shots. This gives the edit some depth becuz u r engaging the viewer into ur surroundings, and making them appreciate the nature and subjects u r filming. But like I said, the skiing was fantastic, and keep pursuing filming, I love it, and I'm always learning. My first edit was a bit over exposed too haha. Keep it up!
Man, tell your skiers to stop afterbanging when you're filming or something, that was ridiculous. The editing was pretty sick I thought, some shot's either had a ravaged white balance or you did something in post, and I wasn't a huge fan of the song. Overall I liked it, keep it up.
