What are the perks to nice boots?

I know that the hot doggers and the booters almost prevent shin bang and toe bang but besides that why buy the 500 dollar boot vs the really shitty 30 dollar boots?

first off, full tilts do not automatically prevent shin and toe bang. boots that fit correctly prevent shin and toe bang, but there is still no guarantee with any boot. i literally have never seen a boot that costs 30 dollars.

i'm sure onenergykid (sorry i think i spelled that wrong) will make it to this thread eventually to tell you why good boots and proper boot fitting are so important.

proper fitted boots don't cure shin bang

you need to layer at least 3 tall tees, all different colors, to cure it.

^ haha ya im going with the tall tee theory....

But what about flips and spins? i mean my boots weigh a shit ton and i feel like my flips take more energy to throw then like on the tramp..... (my skis and bindings are super fucking light)

uhh, everything. heavy boots don't feel as heavy when they fit well. plus you can ski a whole lot better. i never noticed a more dramatic difference in my skiing until i got fitted for boots.

The better a boot fits, the less your foot is going to move around inside of it, which means you'll lose less energy in comparison to a boot that doesn't fit as well, which means your skis will respond faster and better.

More expensive boots generally fit better.
And more expensive boots generally have a better liner, which can help prevent shin and toe bang, and also helps it fit better.

Those are probably the two biggest selling points.

Having boots that fit your feet right and are "nicer" will make such a big difference in the way you ski and how you enjoy it. I thought the same thing.. "meh they just need to fit my bindings so my feet are on my skis.." but I got fitted last year and skiing will never be the same.

Its pretty much all about the liner. But more important than anything is the FIT. You can't not get fitted. You will be fucked unless just by dumb luck you picked the perfect boot. I would sooner have shitty skis, bindings, poles, and outerwear and have nice boots than the opposite

*also need to be in order:
1. Jiberish 2. 4BI9 3. Level 1 (smallest to largest.)

Then, buy a pair of Tom Wallisch signature full tilts, and rock some < 18" poles.

That's the only surefire way of curing shinbang.

They can talk shit all they want but it's guys like you that helped me see the light...haha.....this guy knows his stuff folks and tries to give ya legit advice....jus because it may not be what ya wanna hear is no reason to bash.....so try on a bunch of boots with a fitter....or go buy those full tilt sneaker boots online and keep cryin about your shinbang.

well i got fitted for this year a while ago and got full tilt 26.5 so i have the nice fitted boots now... i was just wondering cause i havent skied with them yet and normally my boots are pieces of shit..... also i live in maryland so when i say piece of shit i really mean piece of shit

good boots totally make a difference.  your skiing improves when your feet be feelin goood.   plus, word on the street is that chicks dig full tilts ;)

I'm older so the next statement may make a little more sense...lol...but my main house is in northwestern Delaware kinda near Newark, which is like right at the Maryland border....I was mostly askin to see what shop was close to ya....but I typically ride at blue/BB during the week when I'm here but I spend alot of time between P-city and boulder most of the winter.
