the shots around 00:13 of a pole being in focus then the building behind it being in focus were totally useless. every new filmmaker has fun playing with focus (which is what 99% of kids who get a T2i do), but he has to understand it's not fun for the audience to see 4 inches of a wooden post in focus, then rack focus to the building behind it, because it adds nothing to the shot. it's ok to film shots like that, but once he gets them onto the computer he should realize that nobody else wants to see that; those shots should never see the light of day. everything a filmer does should be thought out: how will it add to the 'story?' Does it enhance what the filmmaker is trying to create for the audience? In this case, it adds and enhances nothing.
It's pretty good, but it definitely felt like a kid who just got a new camera and isn't quite ready to make a serious project yet.

I liked the graphics work at the end, not sure if that was some preset or if you did it all yourself but it was sick.
Not very trailer-ish if you ask me though.

graphics at the end where with fcpX, they come standard now, which really pisses after effect guys like me off. fcpX is literally Imovie on roids, and in my opinion totally takes away from what fcp is all about. fcp is for pros, not for kids who want to make little themed edits, and fxpX is all about Imovie. Same format and editing process, fucking stupid. Beginning of the edit sucked, I'm sorry. Wakeboarding shots where on point, but was a lil off with the beat. I like the attempt, keep it up, I'm sure u'll make dope ass edits
