Detune or not to detune

I am stuck  between a rock and a hard place (rail) on this one and was looking for some pointers! so here goes nothing. I want to get alot better at rails this year and almost focus on rails this year.  I have 2010 k2 disorderlys that are cambered from tip to tail and i was wondering if detuneing my edges would help me alot on rails and free me up a little more and not catch any edges... if so how would i go about detuneing them, what is the best way? also one more thing if i do this will it effect the way the ski handles every where else and if so where and how bad?? thanks for all the help guys!!

no need. they get less sharp once you slide a few rails and yes it will efect skiing elsewhere because you'll have no edges...

Gummy stones work well, and I don't know where you ski but in my ice coast experiences sharp edges make a hell of a difference.

i haven't tuned my park skis for 3 years and i couldn't grip any hard packed down snow or soft ice.

i usually hit my park skis with a gummy stone right under the bindings, it detunes them nice and it also takes away any unwanted burrs and scrapes

thanks guys! i think i shall try to gummy stone unfed my binding, how would i go about getting a gummy stone

put a 45° angle in the edge of my park skis under the binding. sure you wont carve as hard as before, but you can still lay down some turns. i prefer straightlining anyways. so far i have no edge cracks, which wasnt the case on my old skis that i didnt detune. broke my arm on a dfd rail because i caught an edge. it wasnt fun, so im being extra carefull now. but what ever floats your boat. if your not a pipe guy or carve super hard into kickers no real edges under your bindings wont be that bad.
