Ok so I own a Canon 7D with a Tokina 11-16mm and a Canon 70-200mm. I bought a peice of shit tripod for 35 bucks in the beginning when I was shooting skiing and only owned the Tokina Lens, a fairly small lens. But when I got the 70-200mm, my shitty tripod was not cutting it at all. I've heard many opinions on different sticks and heads that would suit my camera and its set up on the internet shops, but I want to hear people's personal opinions on which combo of a head and a tripod legs I should purchase. So please post what you think is the best set up for my camera tripod wise. Thanks!
I have a manfrotto 501HD and I like it for what it is.. pretty cheap and gets the job done.. for legs I have a silk set of aluminum clamp type legs. whole set up about $200. If your interested I can do some pans and send to you.
yeah but should I drop 1k on a tripod set up, and I think its even more then that because i dont think a quick release plate is included. But then again I want to get a pocket dolly they sell, and if I get a regular tripod, I'll need a mono pod to support the dolly. So is it worth to just go decked out kesseler. It's so damn expensive though
i'm no expert on tripods but I do know that kesseler makes real high quality stuff that will last you a long time. You may also want to check out the Sachtler FSB4.
As several people on here will tell you, it is very much worth dishing out the cash for a quality tripod.
shot it both with a hvx200, and a 5d mkII with a 70-200 2.8 IS I. It creates AMAZINGLY smooth pans and tilts. see my latest video, the whaleback stuff was all shot on it
word, looks very flowy, last question is have u ever used a dolly, becuz thats my next purchase after a tripod, and i need to know if the tripod will hold up well with it
yeah no it is, one of the best around with a crank for an even motion. But i wanna know how it will set on these legs, like if the tripod will tip over with the weight of the dolly/camera. I guess I'll just have to find out, thanks for all the help, much appreciated
