Hi there. i am just looking for some input on the k2 hellbents. I am looking for a ski that would be good in the powder around the west coast mountains such as whistler etc... i am 6 feet tall and about 160 lbs. i am at an expert level .any comments are usefull on this ski as i dont know a whole tonne. Pros cons whatever. Thanks so much
Most of the people that I know who love bents are + or- 10 lbs of ur weight, it totally depends on how u like to ski though, if u want something that is insanely surfy and playful imo u really can't go wrong with them
ok perfect thanks so much!! i am still only 16 and growing pretty rapidly so i think i should be in that weight zone pretty soon. I was looking at a pair of 179's with griffons that are pretty much brand new for $450. Is that a good price do you think? and also what other ski would you reccomend that would be more stable in the chop at the end of a pow day? thanks so much
^there are so damn many to choose from, but generally stiffer skis with a bit less aggressive rocker r gonna be more stable, and $450 shipped is a great deal with bindings, although the bindings may have to be remounted, and when u get a bit bigger u may want the 189. More versatile pow skis to look at would be the armada jj, and line opus if u want playfulness and pop with a bit more versatilitly, and I would look at those in the 185 and 184 respectively
I skied on the jj everyday for two years and loved them, this year I got fid of them only to get the ak jj as I am 190 ish lbs, it is an amazing ski and I couldn't reccomend it any higher, it just does exactly what u want it to do all the time, when ur running out of something its stable, carves groomed well, handles all but the heaviest chop well, and skis pow amazingly!
look into the moment night trains they will be a bit more lighter than the bents and a bit stiffer they are reallly playful yet hold there own on groomers
