Yeah she left me and the lab was her moms that she couldnt take care of and hes in her name.  Even though we connect more and she connected with the little shiatsu dog. Took em both. fuckin pissed.

Technically it is hers but i assumed since I am more active (ski and bike) and she barely skis and bikes and I am living in a cabin in the woods with miles of land that he could be outside and be safe from traffic and tight living space (where she lives now) she would let me have him but no.  Got fucked the wrong way...

I'd love to have a dog to take skiing with me, it's been a dream of mine for awhile now.

I feel you man. I lost my dogs to my whore X girlfriend. It was the hardest part really, anyways it took some time but i got a new dog and she is the love of my life. Plus she is mine, is trained right and doesnt beg and sit there and watch you eat+ isnt nuerotic because she isnt left alone all the time. Maybe down the road you can get a new buddy and it will feel right man.Fuck the girl though, seriously, a dime a dozen.

Sorry for your loss. Was it her dog or yours? I have two dogs and they are amazing, I love them more then anything-I know everyone feels this way about their dogs but they are so well trained and smart and do everything with me. My ex went crazy on me when I broke up with him, and while the dogs were mine (I did the majority of the training and all of the financial-based care for them) from the start, even I offered to let him see them after I broke up with him and he refused. I don't know your story, but hopefully you'll be better off in the long run, and will get a wonderful dog of your own.
