I hate to make this thread but webwork is killing me right now and I cannot figure out what I 'm doing wrong.

Problem:

If y = (3x)^3x find Dxy (pretty much just derive it)

I'm using natural logs to drop the 3x and then deriving from there.

My solution: y[3+3ln(3x)]

HUGE karma given to anyone who can tell me what the solution is

If you're in a class higher than calc 3, what I just gave you probably isn't what you wanted.

I don't follow your notation. Is Dxy the partial derivative with respect to x and y?

Haha yeah I had Chem online too. Typing in chemical reactions including their states of matter was always a bitch.

Out of math, physics, and chem... physics is the biggest boner kill to use online.

(dy)/(dx)= 9*(lnx+1)*x^(3x)

took deriv of 3x^(3x) on my ti-89
i think you are going to need to do a 'u' substitution, where let u=3x. Not quite sure on how to get the answer been a while since ive done calculus
