You can spend $1 on a moldable one from any sports store and it will surely protect you as well as any other. Just go check them out, they are super cheap.
I use a $3-$4 shock doctor one for football and skiing. Never had a concussion or other issue. I like to be able to attach it to helmet so I don't lose it.
My dad used to work in an ER and I've had several concussions from skiing and lacrosse. I consider myself a credible source.
concussions are caused by shock (abrubt large ammount of force) going to the head causing the brain to hit the walls of your skull. Mouthguards absorb shock by suppressing jaw movement.
think about it, a mouthgaurd doesnt to shit to protect your teeth from getting knocked out from a direct impact!
they prevent concussions by absorbing shocks and stuff between your jawbone and head or somthin like that.
of course it does, thats two hard objects hitting each other sending vibrations around your head. Plus it'll probably keep your from raping your teeth or tongue.
I used to wear an under armor one to prevent concussions (thats mainly what they are used for). then i was like no im fine. well then i hit my face on a rail and broke some teeth so now im back to the underarmor one
