Skiing switch on Armada Alpha 1

They will ski switch fine. Especially fine due to the bit of tail rocker. They are NOT symmetrical but don't get hung up on that man. And mounting them center should be fine or maybe where armada recommends if you want a little more all-mountain performance. Mounting is definitely preference when it comes to park skis.

I do not know how they ride switch as I just received my Alpha-1's in the mail today, but judging from the numbers of product videos I've seen, I'm sure it wouldn't be anything for you to really worry about. I've been eyeballing and studying these skis for nearly a year so if there's anything else you wanna know feel free to ask me!

i probably would have gone with the 170 if i were you just cause you're new to park (if i understood correctly) but if you plan to grow into them then i think you made a good choice.

I actually have some Rossignol S2 Howells which I'm planning on using until I've reached the level of skiing that would be required to use the Alpha 1 to its full capabilities. Thank you for your input, Klindberg! Is there any other question regarding the Alpha 1 I can help you with?

ya where did you order yours from? not sure if i want to order online or pay up a tiny bit to get them at my local ski shop. and are they soft enough (flex enough) to butter and press alot?  also, i heard that the race base is really nice at first but after a few days on snow you have to start waxing them very frequently to keep them fast. do you know if this is true?

Al's Ski Barn has free shipping but it may take a while as it is based in ME and took about 5(?) business days for it to arrive here. You can also purchase a hot wax, binding mount, bindings, and poles if you'd like so you can kill a few birds with one stone if you'd like. I'd recommend going to your local ski shop as you can ask them for any tips or gear recommendations. I have been flexing my Alpha's for a while now and they seem pretty stiff. I'm a bit skeptical on people saying it has butter capabilities, but keep in mind this is an upper-level park ski so it's meant to take on the big-boy jumps. However the early rise/rocker on the tip and tails would make buttering possible. Yes, you need to give it some extra TLC but it'll pay you back with speed and I believe the effort you put into taking care of this ski is worth it. A wax every other day and a hot wax every week is what I heard some people do with these skis. You gotta take care of your babies and they'll take care of you.
