last years have been really well reviewed on here.. I've just bought the 2011s with my instructor deal and I can't wait to get them on the snow. They are really playful, light and buttery yet hold up stable on the big booters..
As far as durability for rails is concerned any ski will have issues and the punx are no exception but people say they've improved over the years and hold up better than many. Can't say I know about any changes in tech but I think they will be pretty similar to the 2010s
Thanks for the help. +k to everyone. im currently riding on 2010 k2 extremes and i havent had any major problems. i have normal chipping and 2 tiny edge cracks but nothing bad. im just looking to possibly get a new ski for cheap. how would the k2 press do?
i had a buddy that went through 4 pairs last year they are not very durrable. the tails are also really unforgiving if you ever land a little bit back seat they stiffen up and manual you down the landing or you back slap. there fun to rie if you wanna spend los of $$$$
yeah man personally id go k2 ive riden and owned revials, extremes, domains, kung fugas and this years recoils look sick. I wouldnt go with the domain its really soft and ive seen lost of them broken. but thats just me i like stiffer skis
i liked mine super poppy and playful but durability is definetly an issue. skied mine last year and my edges are cracked and worn down to nothing and they both have cracks in the bases right underfoot.
i ahve the red and black ones, they are fun but i had to get them repaired after the summer because they're getting a little base delam, but i have like no edgecracks and i slid rails all summer
My friend went through 2 pairs of atomic punx in a season; the 09 and the 10 ones. He had the edges basically fold backwards up towards the surface of the ski, and on the other pair he had it delam under his binding so his entire bindings could lift up from the ski 4 inches. They looked not that great to me....
hope you are honestly kidding about afterbangs. i love my k2's and think i might get the domain or the press. i know the domain is soft but ive seen that ski handle 100 foot jumps without a problem. i like softer skis too.
i have a couple of friends that have had them get waterlogged, and base delam. dont think i really trust them. maybe if i found them for cheap(which i know they are, but im 15 with no income) i actually like the ski itself. feels really good. just wish it wouldnt waterlog
