Doubting the K2 Press....

Im looking to buy a new pair of park skiis, and while shopping, i stumbled upon the K2 press. they look like a good ski, jib rocker on K2 is sick, but they are only $300... so i have my doubts. They are wood core, though the website dosent say what kind of wood... they also claim it is "the most durable price point ski anywhere"

I just want to know if they will be able to handle a 170, 6'1 male skier who likes to go big. if you have any experience with these skis, please share.

with any ski you are going to get what you pay for. yes the K2 jib rocker is dope and yes the Press does have a wood core(aspen wood) but you're looking at a ski with the triaxial braided cap. if you like going big you're better off with the K2 Domain. Jib rocker, triaxial braided aspen core and twintech sidewall making it a lot stronger

naw dude the domain is a pretty soft ski. if you like "going big" then get a stiffer ski. (sight or iron maden revival) domain, recoil & press are all fairly soft skis

The k2 wood core is made from a high tech sawdust, collected at the ikea factory in china, held together with glue made from the chinese child slave laborers used in their factory

K2 has been using garbage wood in their skis, i had a few pairs of revivals last year and they all either broke or ripped out, and every pair turned to mush after a couple of weeks. I havnt ridden a good ski from k2 since the public enemy.

ive used a pair for revivals for the past season and a half and been really impressed. the jib rocker is dope, unless your in icy or really hard pack conditions. and the durability had been pretty decent too. cap construction is less durable and more prone to chipping then the 50/50 sidewall thing on the other skis and thats probably a big reson for why its considered a "price point" ski.

Ya, i had a pair of Fujas rip out on me a few times. But i think its due to the fact that the shop that mounted them fucked up, drilled in the wrong spot, didnt fill all the holes, drilled new ones, and sent me out to ski on them without the right screws in, so they ripped out first thing. Then i got the ripped out screw holes filled, and just had problems ever since. im pretty sure the core rotted due to water damage from the unfilled holes. Meadows "HPS" sucks ass.

i don't think you want to be looking at price point jib skis if you're 170 and like to go big... just my two cents

other than that, k2 skis are pretty rugged. i know people who used fujatives (great price point jib skis a few seasons ago) for multiple seasons and know people who are still beating on them. if you like softer skis, the press will probably do their job pretty damn well.

Bingo, the PRESS is the tool of the ol' Fujative built with Jib Rocker. That is why it is a pricepoint. Doesn't mean you make it with shit materials, you just don't have to absorb the cost of a brand new tool and the process of engineering a whole new ski. It's a ski design that worked really well and now with the added Jib Rocker, works even better for it's intended purpose. A good ski to beat on!

If u "like to go big" I wouldn't buy anything with rocker, full camber all the way

I wouldn't listen to what this guy says after he said K2 skis were made out of wooden shreds glued together by Chinese slaves.

Also, rocker helps to "go big" in the pow, and everybody has their different preferences.

^won't post if I quote, there are a couple of k2 skis that I love, mot I think r good, and only a few that i'm not a fan of, but if I was looking for a non twin everyday ski it would almost certainly be the hard side
