Glidecam drop time help

I have a t2i and recently bought a glidecam 2000 pro and manfrotto 577 quick releaseI have been having a hard time getting my drop time to be around the suggested 2 seconds.I have tried all kinds of things, but it us always too fast.
Any words of wisdom to getting a slower drop time?

Shorten the telescoping pole or take some weight off if your drop time is like under a second. All there is to it.

Couldn't get it, so I tried with my battery grip and some more weight, and it's a lot better

Make sure you have everything on that you would in a normal situation. Batteries, filters, sd cards, mics, everything. And make sure you have it set to the preferred zoom length, which is usually the widest your lens will go.
