Salomon Rocker 2's?

I got a pair of the 184 122mm underfoot rocker 2's last december. I mounted them pretty far foward at +6, for a more freestyle feel. The other 4 pairs in the shop were mounted from +3 to +5cm. +4 seems to be the best overall placement for the bindings and its where I will remount mine for this coming season. Riders like Sammy though have been using his centered at around +6, so it can be done.

My reason for moving the mount back was its quite a soft ski, and I prefer having slightly more nose to make the front of the ski slightly more stable. In use the skis are very good. In deep pow they float very well, the rocker in the tip and tail realy give a solid feel under the foot, but the camber keeps the ski full over energy. The 22m radius feels very good in trees, you can really carve these skis and smear off speed very easily when required. Switch the skis feel fun, there still directional at 132mm in the tail compared to 142 in the tip. They are easy to butter with the soft tip and tail. On groomers I found the short turn radius a little hard work at first but once you realise you can carve these things there fun, just slow edge to edge like any fat ski. I used mine in teh park a few times. Like most salomons they have great pop,  and are actually very playfull for a big ski.

Personaly I would also liek a pair of the 192 length. They are much more satble at spped, as the cambered section increases so for more big mountain use they would be great. However the 184 are alot more playfull.

The swing weight on teh skis is so low, thanks to the honeycomb tip and tail. For a big ski there very light and work very well all over the mountain.

Durability wise they seem good. Mine look great still. I was conserced about teh durability of not having edges in the tip and tail but of mine and my 4 friends who had them, there were no durability isues. On of my friends got about 70 days on his and there in great shape still, pretty inpressive.

You will enjoy the ski, and its going to be one of the biggest selling skis this season, it is infact the only ski we have been selling so far. We have the whole range of skis in and teh rocker 2's are allready walking out the doors, so good job getting a pair early. Let me know how you like them when you get chance to ride them

Who else had some last year, i want to hear what people thought of them too.

I rode the 192s a bunch last season because we had a demo pair. They're awesome for straight pow riding, very playful. The pair I was riding were mounted true center and I didn't have any issues with flotation at all, couldn't bury the tips if I tried.

The only criticism I'd have is that they're perhaps not as stable as they could be, but that's a product of their light weight and softer flex. Honestly, they're surprisingly light - they kind of threw me off every time I was in the air because I'm used to heavier ski and binding combos.

Awesome ski though, I'd recommend them to anyone. Not a lot of fun on groomers, but they're not meant for that.

This was awesome. much more stoked on getting them now. pro forms for reps are starting to come out so they should be here late october :D

(Beware of rant) Jesus christ I hate it when people refer to how far of the recommended line they mount. If you don't own the ski or know where the mounting line is, you have little or no idea of where it is on the ski. How hard can it be to use dead center (middle of ski, length wise) as standard, and then refer to how far back of dead center. That way it tells more about the characteristics of the ski, depending on where it is mounted. (End of rant)

From what I've heard on the mountain over the last season the rocker 2 is an awesome ski though ;)
