It’s funny how stubborn old guys who have worked at the same shop for 30+ years can be. I have dealt with similar situations many times and the conversation always goes the same. You tell them what you want and they can’t believe it. Yes, I want my Hellbents as close to center as possible… That’s what the ski was designed for, a jibby playful pow ski. Yes I want my park skis at 1 back from true center. Then they try to talk you into moving the mount back and you tell them no. Look at it from their perspective, if carving groomers is what skiing means to you after 30 years - you would think someone’s nuts for mounting anywhere near center.
What's stupid about that? If a company gets sued and has a liability insurance policy they're going to try to make a claim, the insurance company will try to find a way to deny the claim, and then they'll fight about it.
Yeah you're right this is off topic, the US is a banana republic where people file frivolous suits all the time, and all I remember about tort liability is what I learned in law school many a year ago and have never used since.
Anyway, go find a shop that will do what you want, is the long and short of it.
