ATOMIC OR SURFACE?

alrighty... so i need to buy new skis and i a mabout 5'6" so i want to get something around 170 cm.... should i get the 2010 atomic punx, or the 2010 surface nine lifes? also, which one would be lighter, more flexable... ect. THANKS! K+

I think the nine life had durability issues. all their other skis were fine, but not those. i'd go punx on this one.

Punx for sure.

The only thing that the Nine Lives really had going for them was their SUPER light weight. They had some major issues which edge damage, and since they were so lightweight they sometimes snapped in half. They were kinda fun, I had a pair before they snapped, pretty lively, but not exactly the greatest out there.

The Punx on the other hand are starting to really impress me. They're light, poppy, and can handle big jumps and still butter and jib. They used to have some durability issues a few years back, but that seems to be fixed. Punx are on my list of skis to try out (and hopefully when I visit my friends in Utah in November I'll get the chance to try them).

rode my nine lifes all season and summer. no problems so far but im pretty light.

Punx are really light and very flexible. Also Atomic is very durable...

I should have added...they seem to be fairly hit or miss, I do know there have been a bunch of people who've skied them for a season, some even two, in the park with no issues, but when things do go wrong, they go wrong pretty hard.

Fairly far back, the first year with greater durability was the 08-09s (all black), the 09-10s were even a better than that.

and this years are supposed to be better, they made the edges more resistant to cracking.

definitely go with atomic skis, my surfaces broke in like 1/2 season, punx all the way

I've abused my Punx for two seasons now and they're still holding up well. Love 'em.

Punx are awesome, really fun. I wouldn't say they're indestructible at all though, they're pretty hit or miss too on durability

having never rid on either I couldnt say much but I have sold a few pairs at my local ski shop College Sports and have never had any complaints come back. BTW the graphic is sick this year!
