Question for any rope climbers? (with harnesses, rigging everything)

i'd like to start getting into climbing and learning the ropes as far as rope climbing, and all the harness and everything.

so my question is, where's the best place to start? are there classes you can take?

and what are the levels of certification?

best place to start is an indoor rock climbing gym. they will teach you all of that stuff that you need to know and it's a good place to build a basic foundation.

usually those types of places also offer outings where they do real rock climbing and can show you anchoring/belaying in a real outdoor setting. i would locate your nearest rock gym and call them for info.

ya thats where i started first. my local ymca has a good wall so check there.
