Adult bindings for a kid?

I'm setting up my kid brother (9yrs old, 70lbs, 4ft6) with a park setup. I was wondering if for bindings he could use my old salomon c509 bindings(2.5 - 9 din)? They'd be light enough for him (they're mostly plastic), and the din range is fine because he's not that good yet. I just don't know if they'd be too big and clunky for him.

What says the collective?

Depends on his DIN (which you can call your local shop to determine) and if his boot is a JR norm or and Adult norm sole.

Yeah or look at the squires...you can get last years real cheap

^ well if he is 9 chances are he has a JR boot mountain viper, so the squire will be no good.

Best advice would be go to your local shop with him and his boots, have them asses what he has, work out his din and recomend a binding on that information.
