Getting air on launch ramps is dependent on two things, mainly- your speed, and your pop. You can be going damn fast but not getting anywhere, just because you're not timing your 'pop' right. Likewise, you can be going slow yet still go huge if you've got your hops down. I'd recommend just jumping around a lot to get a feel for it...

I do! Hit a 360 over 6 stairs my first time skating, I did. Its harder to stay on axis than skiing.

i used to roll.... its fun shit.. park is where its at... feels like skiing.

if you ride vert and park you're best off riding flat rocker... harder wheels in the middle and softer wheels on the outside for better grip and grinding pleasure... flat allows you to go faster and bigger.

if anyone ever talks smack to you for rolling just smile and take it... cause it truly does help your skiing....

just get a videogroove movie and take those tricks to skiing... all of a sudden you will be the most progressive kid in the park.
