Armada ARV or 4FRNT MSP

Need a new "every day" ski as I've pretty well thrashed my old ARVs. I primarily ski trees/all mountain/slackcountry, but dip into the park every now and then for a few boxes/rails. Love my ARVs so I had planned on just replacing them with this years model, but I know some of the 4FRNT guys and I've heard good things on the MSP and could get a good deal (I have CRJs for the big pow days).

Anyone have any experience with the MSP? It's a little slimmer underfoot (90 vs 95 for the ARV in my size) and looks to be a little stiffer. In essence I want it to be decent in pow, stable at speed, but still serviceable in the park. Thoughts/opinions?

Yeah there pretty differnt skis. The MSP is pretty stiff in comparsion. It rips on hardpack but will be less playfull in the powder. It will be more stable at speed though, and better in the steeps. Proberbly better then the ARV on jumps but I think the ARV is better on rails. So it depends what you want, if its a soft, buttery playfull ski the ARV will be better, if you prefer to charge and really use your edges then you will prob prefer the MSP.

I have some older MSP's and I'd say they're perfect for you. They are so great at ripping through all types of conditions minus deep pow. I use them in the park and they are fine for sliding boxes and rails. Here's a vid of them:

Much much appreciated guys and exactly the kinda responses I was hoping for. +k to you both for whatever it's worth. Like I said I'm not too concerned about deep pow since I'll have my CRJs out on any day that's 8"+, but I do need them to float when I hit a random stash in the trees a few days after a storm. With the MSP being significantly stiffer and a little more narrow underfoot, does it compare at all to the AR6/AR7? Only asking because I rode my AR6s forever so if they're similar at all it would give me a good basis for comparison.

I was told this is the last year they're making the MSP, then someone in the Armada thread said this is also the last year of the ARV.. sad to see two tenured, versatile skis going by the wayside.
