What does everyone who's ridden the punx think of them? I feel like they are really skinny but everyone I've seen with them throws down. Looking into getting them cause theyre cheaper than every other quality park ski out there. My price range is anywhere below $450. I'm 6' 150lbs. and this year will be my 2nd year skiing park. Any other suggestions? I might bomb some groomers with the skis every once in awhile too.
They arent really that skinny. They are super light, and incredibly poppy. They are also really buttery and i havent had any problems with them yet. So far the edges have held up and the topsheet to. I really cant think of anything bad about these skis.
Punx are on my list of skis to try out. They've seemed to step up their durability over the past couple of years (used to be pretty bad, tons of edge blow out and sidewall damage). They seem like a sick ski, can handle some huge kickers but are still buttery and fun to ski around on.
Ar7s would be 181. And the difference would be directional vs symmetrical, both should have the same durability cause they're made in the same factory. Both are lightweight and have similar swing weight (punx are low because of symmetry, ar7s are low because of cap construction in the tip and tail. The flex is similar, the ar7 has a stiffer tail because it's directional, but other than that they're pretty similar. So it basically comes down to symmetrical vs directional.
