If you had $10,000 for a car..what would you buy

got 10g's for a car right now looking for someting pretty solid, awd, suv prefer but would do with a wagon. Looking out there to see what everyone thinks...if they had 10g's for a car, what would you buy? Not looking for answers for myself...more for a survey of what everyone else would get to get some good ideas for some solid whips

I just had a look on Swedens answer to craigslist, and my conclusion is that I'd probably buy an old truck or van and make it into something you can live in. Because $10k really isn't alot. No nice cars at all to be had for that kind of money, mostly Volvos.

Oh do I love mk2 recaros, but Im just not a fan of mk2 dashes, and ya cant rock mk2 recaros with a mk3 dash haha. but all is opinion and everybody has a different one! you in to the whole euro scene? im driving around in a mk3 VRT jetta right now.

Jeep Willys MB, completely original condition down to the correct nuts and bolts, probably gonna spend a bit more but 10 000 gets you a fine project !

I just picked up a saab 92x aero for under 10. Pretty much a wrx but the resale is cheaper due to gm incentives.

i wont argue anything about trucks because i cant say anything intelligent about them. the e46/e36 point ill also leave alone because honestly i hate them both, i have an e46, its gay, its sorta ugly for reasons i cant figure out, its too expensive to buy any parts for, it weighs one million pounds, and the fucking radio just broke. i have never driven an e36 but i can just tell by looking at them that i would get in it and be like "wow this is gay" and then pop the clutch and go around so corners with the ass hung out and be like "hey this isnt too bad" but then get out and look at it again and be like "no i still hate it"

anyways,
wrx> e30 325ix ive driven an 325ix, and owned an e30 vert (sold it today, kinda miss it, sorta hated, have to admit it was really an awesome car) but its not just a "litte" slower than a wrx, its ALOT slower than a wrx, it doesnt have a better powerband AT ALL, because it has no fucking power, and i guess its better balanced towards being an oversteering spin happy death machine regardless of the conditions, rain or snow. unlike the wrx, which understeers a little and is probably less likely to kill you. regardless, good luck finding parts for any older bmw without paying disgusting, unbelievably high prices and then waiting for shipping for days or other gay shit. in order to maintain my e30 i had to pull parts from junkyards, by the time i sold it i had stripped out like three other ones entirely.

Find one around 100k that has had water pump and timing belts done and you should be good for a few years until the turbos go. In that case just upgrade and make that thing a beast!

Maybe im in a terriable mood today but everything in this post annoyed me.

I cant stand kids who claim BMW's congrads..........you drive a 15 year old beamer with 230k on the block with 110hp under the hood, not to mention the associated maintance costs.  But it has a bmw badge on it  so its def. worth blowing youre load over.

Craigslist isnt allways the best place to find cars, yes I got a steal and a half on my bug eye, (wagon, 03, 69k, for around 8,700), but its easy to get ripped off, whatever youre interested in especialy is its from cl, bring it to a shop and have them check it out before buying.

They actually had an episode on top gear where they tried to find the best car they could for under 7,000 pounds
(10,000 USD) I can't find it on youtube but if anyone can, post it up. I remember Jeremy Clarkson bought a 2001 Mercedes, not sure what model. And Richard Hammond bought a little older Beemer. Definitely check out craigslist because I'd love to cruise around in a Benz if I could.

seriously no i have one its garbage. i only got it because my trucks transmission melted itself on the inside and i couldnt afford to replace it but also needed a car immediately. i swear it is one of the gayest, ugliest cars ever. its not stylish, it weighs the same as an aircraft carrier and its only capable of moving very slowly, like a glacier. the ride is "meh" as well as the interior (okay maybe i do i really like the tan color)





buy a volvo s60r. people will get in it and be like "fuckin volvo so gay dude" and then youll drop two gears and stomp it and theyll be like "FUCKIN VOLVO HOLY SHIT"
