If you had $10,000 for a car..what would you buy

got 10g's for a car right now looking for someting pretty solid, awd, suv prefer but would do with a wagon. Looking out there to see what everyone thinks...if they had 10g's for a car, what would you buy? Not looking for answers for myself...more for a survey of what everyone else would get to get some good ideas for some solid whips

I got my Supra for 10,000. It's been sweet, though it's a smaller car, I got my bike in the back. (Carefully) Also, many turbos never hurt.

I would drop that skrill on a used 3 series or a used a4. Fuck suv's when you've got a whip that can handle just as well and is a lot more fun to drive.

i agree with everything except the mk3 interior. mk2 recaro seats are my favorite seats of any old vag model. just my opinion though.

there are so many amazing cars you can buy for like 10 grand, i have no idea how people can have a budget of 10 grand, and end up with something like an accord some how.

anyway, for a sports car, an e36 m3, for 10 grand you could get an amazing example, better car than the e46 m3 IMO, (still no e30). and its very reliable.

for an suv, an fj80 landcruiser, its probably the best offroad car under 10 grand i can think of in stock form. they fucking kill it. plus they are crazy reliable.

for a truck, some early 90's toyota truck for like 3 grand, get a long travel, desert truck setup. convert the bed into a camper type thing that folds out for some extra room. and have a sweet ass expedition vehicle.

for an AWD car, even though you can find one for like 4 grand, an e30 325 ix, because it really is the best AWD car you can get for under 10 grand. just a tad slower than a wrx, but with a better powerband. and a much better balanced car. especially in the snow, more reliable too. and with 10 grand you could turn it into a beast.

8000 will get you a 2006 legacy wagon (please don't get the turbo'd ones) with 100k on the clock off a DEALER lot. i'm telling you man don't fuck around when it comes to buying a car just take my advice and get a wagon, throw a rack on it, don't pimp it out because its not a race car, and enjoy solid reliable transportation and a shit load of fun in the snow for the next 10 years you own it.

It's my ideal vehicle, I've wanted one for a couple years now, sporty enough like a car, but you can ski bum out of it/sleep/camp. AWD, and all that fun Subaru shit.

Although if I had 10 grand right now and needed a car, I would probably just buy a cheap shit hunk and spend the rest on camera gear.

If you get a diesel van run that shit on biodiesel you will have one hell of a ski bum car. I have been dreaming about some those. Or better yet buy it straight from the icelandic army they have one's with a roof 3 feet taller than the normal ones or something and get crazy gas mileage and never break. It's all true.
