Car amp help!! please help

Hey everyone

So I recently purchased a Jensen Power 900 watt amp and a 12" 1200 watt kenwood sub. I installed it by myself, I am new to it so I turned all the bass power and all the nobs up all the way. About 3 weeks later it blew. I bought 2 12" kenwood subs today. The power remote thing has a green light on it, and if the nobs are to high it turns red when the bass hits. I noticed before on my other sub before it blew. I dont want to blow them but I also want the subs to KICK. Can anyone help me fix this problem?

Hahaha you idiot. Good sound =\= retardedly loud bass. Why don't you leave the eq alone and just turn the volume up?

You probably look and sound like an idiot with 2 12's at full power... An impressive stereo system is one like mine, which is all balanced while still having bumping bass. Save your ear drums and turn that shit down... no one thinks it's cool.


And by the way... If the red light goes on they're getting too much power. It's not a "problem" you can fix without turning them down. Derp.

Remember their subs, their made to be loud! their not made for grandmas so they'll be made to be loud on reasonable levels. My suggestion is to set them at 60-70 % of what they can be set at. So 1-10 do a 6 or 7. But in the end its your money! Have fun! Oh and listen to the guy above, the tweeters and 6x8's are just as important and i would suggest upgrading those as well cause if you blow those it'll sound terrible no matter how loud the subs are.

If you just can't hear them at all there are a few things you can do. Do you have them up against the back of your seats and in the correct boxes like you're supposed to? You may have them plugged up wrong. Usually when you have them plugged up wrong you accidentally "bridge" them which blows the amp, not the subs... Kind of sounds like you may have dual voice coil subs and only have a single channel amp. Are there 4 plug in spots per sub or only two?
