Its funny, in 6th grade I made 3 life-long friends (and the gang was started) over reading calvin and hobbes in the lunchroom. It was when all 8 elementary schools were dumped into one middle school, so we were all thrown into a new environment. my best friends just sat down at my table and were like "hey I like calvin and hobbes too!" Its nuts because they all ride/MTB/like the outdoors as well.
i love calvin and hobbes. a huge part of my childhood for sure. i actually had a recent revalation regarding calvin and hobbes. i dont know if any of you guys have seen "sucker punch," but i realized that they basically stole the concept of using an action sequence to mirror whats actually happening from spaceman spiff. hopefully that makes sense...
can anyone help me find a certain strip ive been looking for? i have all the books but dont know which one it's in...
anyway calvin's mom has gotten him a book from the library and he's saying all these things like oh it really made me thing etc then he's like don't get me any more, it's making things more confusing
if anyone can help me toward finding that one itd really be great. thanks
In the first frame, Calvin hand his mom a book and says, "I read this library book you got me". She asks him what he thought of it. In the second frame he says, "It really made me see things differently. It's given me a lot to think about." In the third frame, his mom says, "I'm glad you enjoyed it". Calvin's closing response is: "It's complicating my life. Don't get me any more."
i stopped by a friend's house when he and some other kids were tripping and one of them was like dude you always remind me of calvin from calvin and hobbes. i was like fucking thanks dude!!
calvin and hobbes literally never gets old, easily the best comic ever. i've yet to find someone out of my friends who's a fan though, which kinda sucks
i love calvin and hobbes, when we used to get those book order pamphlet things in elementary school they would always be in them, and i would buy them and be so fuckin hyped for the next 2 weeks.
