Basically, to make a long story short, i fucked up, and owe ATT 400 bucks. I have 200 dollars that i can afford to loose, but that leaves 200 dollars in debt. And i dont have a job. Or any skills. What do?
Sell something. You're not going to like it, but the consequences are worse. Have you recently purchased any skiing gear, or anything else, that is still unused and returnable for full price? A pair of skis would pay that off easily with half the money left over.
sell your old stuff on amazons used section - I sell old cellphone chargers, video games etcccc. I make an extra 50-60 monthly doing that it's wayy easy
I see you are on the East Coast... Brigham and Womens in Boston was doing a study a couple of years ago that was around 9grand for 70 consecutive days in their sleep lab. You had to be isolated though, so no live TV, internet, or contact with the outside world. But still, you just sit around and do nothing, and they just see how your circadian rhythms do whatever they do with no reminder. I got eliminated on my 3rd level of eligibility investigation because I was in a different time zone. Almost made tons of easy money.
call at&t. unless you owe them for the actual phone or something, you can usually talk your way out of most of it. just be polite, explain what happened and how you didt realize you would be charged so much and see where that gets you
If you're in Long Island (checked profile) Have a look at the gigs section on craigslist.
Check under events. There are often things posted there like selling newspapers at sports games and so forth that pay decently. Usually around $100 a day. Do two days of that and you should be set.
Gas + time = very hard to make this a very profitable pursuit.
I had a buddy who thought he could make bank doing it with computer parts (because there is a large amount of copper, aluminum, gold, and silver in them......who cares about steel)
It turned out to be a good idea at first, but no way to scale it to a profitable operation without some serious investment.
I actually know a few people that scrap for a living, and dont do to bad doing it. Living near alot of country areas in idaho pays off sometimes. Steel is at 200 a ton and i can find a ton in about 1-3 hours and use about two gallons of gas.
go around to the neighbors to see if they have any odd jobs they'd be willing to pay you to do, then get to work. it's not necessarily easy money, but it's money.
