Why do people buy fast cars?- to go fast. These transmissions can shift faster than you can blink, dont carry the same chances of messing something up, and can dish out better performance in every single facet. The only reason you still see manual transmissions in certain race cars is due to the fact that sequential or assisted transmissions have weight penalties associated with them in certain racing.
Have you ever played around with a clutch designed to handle 500 ft lb of tq? It is a major pain in the ass.
Also most launch control systems require adaptive clutch control as well as being able to shift fast enough for the car.
If you want to experience driving- go buy a 5 speed miata- but if your spending this kind of cash to go fast without being in a purpose built race car- then expect a dct of some kind.
If i had the cash every car I have ever owned would be a sequential conversion.
