School backpack

well ns, im in the market for a good school backpack. i would like it to look good, be under 50 dollars and be rather large (several books and a binder must fit). if you have any suggestions, post them up!! i honestly have no clue what to look for.

Not to threadjack or anything, but I don't wanna make my own thread.  I need a big backpack that can hold lots of stuff for school.  I'm OCD organized so I have a 1" binder for each class, meaning 7 binders total, 6 binders every day (A day B day class on separate days).  I need a backpack that will comfortably fit 6 1" binders in it and will still be easy to carry and keep organized with other things.

Help is appreciated.

Go to backcountry.com and search dakine. They're having a big sale and there are a bunch of suitable backpacks there that im sure you would like

go to a north face outlet if there's one in your area and there are usually buttloads there for pretty cheap. i got one three years ago and still use it. Shit is quality.

they don't make them anymore I believe, but the skullcandy amp'd pack I have is killer. Used to have working speakers but even without them it's suede and baller.

Those packs are like 1200 cubic inches so not very much space... I wouldn't use it for school.

yeah a small bags not too much fun. especially when you're at college. I have to take a train to get home an if i'm staying for like a week on a short break, I'll need to pack stuff. Plus being able to put a jacket on the outside (like a rain shell) is good. or any jacket so it doesn't clog up your bag. plus when the bags too big and you have nothing in it, it compresses small. small bags are just small, and thats it.

I think it's a better idea to spend a lot on a nice backpack like ll bean or northface because I got a $20 element pack and it ripped in like 2 weeks yet my $120 ll bean pack had worked since first grade

i've been using heli pros since my last year high school, and now already 3y on college and they're the perfect size for me, they fit all my papers and notes + the pouch on the front holds all my crap and the small one on top can hold my sunglasses /cellphone/keys and due to their high form i can always fit a sweater/raincoat/gloves on top of my schoolwork/papers ....

i wouldn't get something bigger than a heli pro, but that might just be me, i like to travel light :)

Haha, yeah, I don't travel light.  If you saw my comment up top, I use 7 1" binders, I don't think that'd fit in the Heli Pro.  MAYBE in the Heli 2, but I'm not sure.

i usually carry 1x 1" binder with the slides/papers i need for the day
1 map with documents and shit, a notebook, my agenda, calculator, pencils, etc....

and it fits perfect :)

7 binders would be a bit overkill for me :)

If you go to backcountry.com or departmentofgoods.com you can refine you search results to what your looking for, like brand and color. I think you can even refine the search to size.

I have this exact backpack and I can vouch for how awesome it is. It fit about 3 large textbooks, plus several 1 subject binders it's awesome

I bought the Dakine Burnside recently. I love it, it's a drawstring as opposed to a zipper. Which I find is much better, since you don't have to force a zipper around it. Comes with a laptop pocket, and a pocket on the top part.

So I just got that patagonia backpack and I do like it (albeit not having used it yet, but it looks nice). you'll definitely be able to fit binders in here, I put five 1" ones and one 1.5" binder in there and had room left for lots of other stuff. iI usually only carry things in folders anyway, and a notebook. My teachers in high school always wanted me to use binders but I still just used folders. plus it's got a dwr coating on it, the laptop sleeve is really good as well.
