My thoughts on the Weight trailer

Hella stoked to see so much focus on Boston. Being an East Coaster myself I love when big companies come back to the east coast and show off what it has. Like last year, it looks like its going to contain so many of the stept guys going hard in the paint (see: tom warnicks leg injury blog post on stepts site) to get some wicked sick shots. Big mountain shots looked good too, and did my eyes deceive me or was some of that shot on good ol film? Hype for us filmmakers!

How so? Was the Stept crew flashing gang signs throughout the trailer? No. When I watched the interviews, it seemed to me that they were merely trying to show how freeskiing, or urban skiing I guess, is perceived by a different audience. Those interviews are coming from people who have very little knowledge about the sport and for them to say the stuff that they did just shows me that the Stept crew absolutely killed it. Just because they show a black guy doesn't imply that they are adding a thug aspect to it...it's the inner city, urban environment.

Just my 2 cents.

stept films some of the most underrated skiers out there, and captures probably the best first hand account of the dedication and focus that their crew has. considering the trailer and probably the movie is anywhere from 60 to 90 percent urban, the time and effort that must have been spent already amazes me. stept doesn't need any park shots to make heads turn, and if you ask me, they are the only crew able to say that. the fact that they filmed in boston, my hometown, just makes it that much better. cant wait to see it, way to go stept.

Great stuff stept!

Bought Network last year. It was my first stept movie and this will be my second.

Tremendous editing, camera work, production value. Skiing was (at this point expectedly) next level.

Voiceover work/ interviews are usually pretty painful in ski flicks, but yall manage to work it in well.

Underrated? Stept and their crew is almost universally loved and has been at least since Blueprints. And don't go throwing around that other crews can't do something, it's not like Stept is God's gift to skiing, they just have a good vision of skiing and the talent behind and in front of the lens to make it a solid deal.

I'm not putting down other crews out there, but stepts movies make me think "holy shit that was sick" just as much as other movies do, but with half the huge park jump shoots. i think some of the skiers are pretty underrated, cam riley, shea flynn, warnick, p white

dude, i love stept, you sound like you love stept too, i'm not saying anything bad about anyone

no they still would, one torrent isnt going to bring a whole production company out of business. you seem to be blowing my proposal out of the water, it wouldnt be that big of a deal. chill your boner dude i dont have 20 bucks, some people cant afford everything they look at. and for further reference i would buy the movie if i could.

HA, i wish i was spoiled! life would be a lot easier! but unfortunately im not. but yeah $20 is a big deal to me because like i said i cant afford everything i see.. and the only reason i ski is because my dad works at a fuckin resort. if he didnt i wouldnt ski because I CANT AFFORD IT. is it effecting you if a torrent is made? are you losing money? no. so stfu and give me a reasonable answer instead of flipping shit and causing a stupid argument over nothing.

Haha $20 is about two hours of work. Thats two hours of work and if you watch it everyday you'll be getting many hours of enjoyment for 2 hours of work.

Trailer was one of the best of the season thus far along with La Nina and After Dark, probably most excited to see Maks Gorham kid is sick glad he's filming with Stept already
