It would be very difficult to do a comprehensive job of this.

There are slope skiers, style skiers, film skiers, big mountain skiers, all sorts of stuff.

Each of these would have to be assigned points, but in a different way, because not everyone puts out the same way. There would need to be a way for slope skiers to be assigned points, which is easy (by results), but then there are skiers who are in edits, which would be tougher (a good edit means high points?) but then there are other skiers who don't really make edits, and just kinda show up in movies at the end of the year....

And it would get crazy complicated as soon as there is crossover between sub-categories.

But if someone could make it work, I would definitely be into it.

your right it would be hard but they could start out with just comp skiers cause thats the easiest to track but eventually they could do with edits too but who determines whether its a "good" edit or not? i could see many a shitstorms brewing but it would be all in good fun

The way it used to be done was with only contest skiers. I think that's most appropriate, because one cannot judge one edit versus another, they're probably both really good but impossible to scale.

What if you didn't judge them against each other?

There can be different categories, like film, edit, style, and comp, and then each participant picks however many from each category. That way, they each get points assigned, but not against each other.

The whole point of a fantasy game is to have points and find out a winner. Remember way back in the day, freeskier had a ranking of the top 100 users on fantasy freeride after each week or session or whatever?

There's no point in me spending my fantasy guap on travelling circus, if I get no points in return. Although their webisodes may be better than someone winning 5th place in some little pipe contest, I have to be able to get points to win.

No no, im saying that every skier will be worth points if they put out something good. Each participant would have to pick 3 skiers or something from each category.

There were two ways to go, drop everything on tanner and jon and simon, or buy like 6 of the lesser known, lower placing guys and hope to make up the points. Definitely fun, but I was never any good at it cause I was too young and didn't really understand how to make it work out for the best.
