Help on making your own hesh/gypsy ski pants

For tha past year or so iv bean searching for a good pair oh hesh/gypsy skiiny ski pants, but all the ones iv ever tried are either not long enough, way to skinny or just look silly.

So this is my quistion for you!

Have you ever made your own hesh/gypsy ski pants, if so please tell me how you did it.

A couple ways iv heard that seem like they would work is  sewing up the inseem of around the knees of the pants, or even taking string and taking the back of the knee and pulling it to get then tying the string so it skrunches it up.

I'm realy good at sewing so if the proces involves this i will be fine.

turn them inside out
decide how much you want to sew them in
draw a line where you want to sew them in
sew on the line
cut off access fabric
zigzag along where you cut them

i did, all you do is flip them inside out, pin them how tight you want, then sew. really it's not rocket science

this except for cutting off the excess fabric, then your seams arent tapered so your pants will be 100x less waterproof.

Haha, a bit uncalled for?

I wasn't asking how to do it, I don't even want to make my own skinny pants. I was just saying a video could be helpful... Some people like to have a solid pattern/idea/tutorial of something before they go out and try it. It seems you're way more intelligent then all of those people... or maybe you're just an asshole who doesn't realize that everyone learns/does things in a unique way.

I know sewing an inseam would be simple but if you had no sewing experience you can't tell me watching someone else do it wouldn't be helpful and if nothing else reassuring.

if you sew them, then they will leak all along the seam you sewed...unless you tape them there as well.

Save yourself grief and time and continue looking for pre-made pants that fit.

I wouldn't do this on insulated pants. Just on a shell and preferably pants without a waterproof membrane such as goretex. Also, pick up this. http://www.seattlefabrics.com/Seam%20Sealers.html

1) flip pans inside out.
2) take a razor to the inside lining and cut it about a 10 inches above to 10 inches below the knee.
3) pin the pants where you want them to be taken in. Sew it along the line with the pins to the right of the needle with the pants to the left to make sure you aren't putting in extra holes.
4) zig zag stitch near the straight stitch.
5) Cut off excess of leave it. But use the sealant over the stitching.
6) sew the lining shut with out stitching the outside. You shouldn't worry about sewing this in any tighter in that it's only one more thing to tear from being to tight. So yeah, just sew it shut and you likely won't notice it.
7) if you live in a cold area, invest in some warm/thick long underwear :) May I recommend Icebreaker 260.


Or.... Check out women's holden pants. They are some of the longest fit I have found. Also, Obermeyer also makes a flared shell in Long for women.

It really is just a strip of tape, and then you take an iron to it on whatever setting it tells you and it seals it.

Super simple. Just make sure to use the right heat setting. It's totally worth it.
