Any Sociopaths?

Out of curiosity, are there any sociopaths on NS? Based on statistics, it wouldn't surprise me. Sociopathy, in the lack of emotion defintion, has always fascinated me, and I would love to hear from one what their mindset and opinions are like.

Anyone?

I had to wikipedia it but wow. Turns out I meet the symptoms for The World Health Organization's definition of Dissocial personality disorder. Makes sense to me.

But then again nowadays it seems like every single tiny problem has be categorized in some way. Isn't a ridiculous precentage of the American youth on ritalin or some shit like that?

A) There is a pervasive pattern of disregard for and violation of the rights of others occurring since age 15 years, as indicated by three or more of the following:
  1. impulsiveness or failure to plan ahead;
  2. reckless disregard for safety of self or others;
  3. consistent irresponsibility, as indicated by repeated failure to sustain consistent work behavior or honor financial obligations;
B) The individual is at least age 18 years.C) There is evidence of conduct disorder with onset before age 15 years.D) The occurrence of antisocial behavior is not exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode.
According to that... I'd say a lot of skiers are sociopaths....

I am.
I can turn off my emotion at anytime no matter what. If i needed to get over something, like a break up, I can just snap my emotion to a different channel, or not feel any at all. I would make for a good serial killer/ soldier because i would not be phased at all.

I also have noticed over the years that I am phenomenal at balancing things in my mind. I think a lot like a scientist and can work a lot of very deep and difficult things out.

Not sure if i completely qualify as one, but I know that i share similar traits.

yeah, I used to think this, but sociopaths don't worry about this sort of thing at all lol. and if you are sociopath you probably don't feel much desire to ski. it turns out there are all sorts of psychological limitations to being a sociopath (in terms of actual brain wiring). I was just drugged the fuck out and then I went sober and started feeling all the emotions again. As dudes, we just don't get pissy or feel sadness as much.

and yeah I get the whole "different channel" of emotion. I think you should just go out and socialize a LOT more. If you have NEVER EVER EVER felt guilt or remorse, then you just might be a sociopath. hahaha I might go jeff foxworthy on y'all here.

but seriously, you're probably not.

if you can be manipulated in any way by other people's emotions, like even the slightest, you probably aren't be a sociopath. you just probably have bad social skills and need to develop your sixth sense.

I'm talking about TOTAL lack of empathy, subconscious recognition of body language. sociopaths don't recognize body language nearly as well as other people. again, also just might be bad social skills.

sorry for the dub post, I have been hospitalized for this shit, I'm a clinically diagnosed sociopath/psychopath...they revoked the label after I went sober and showed them I'm actually a pretty damn happy and nice person when I want to be. I just went fuckin nuts for a bit lol.
