Who's playing football this fall?

I'm two weeks away from the first game of my senior season. We have some goo players, and the chance to be the best team at my school in a long time.
I play at boulder high, a 5A school in CO.

I am a linemen so I don't really know what goes on but I am pretty sure they do that too. They have passing practice with all "skill" players. We just don't have full team practices until the weak before school.

just drove by my old high schools 2 a days going on, immediately started laughing my ass off because 2 a days sucked, especially with our coaches. I miss football though, i really do.

ONTARIO. NOBODY REALLY CARES ABOUT FOOTBALL, AND THE KIDS THAT DO ARE REALLY SCRUBBY.

AND ALMOST EVERYONE MAKES THE TEAM BECAUSE ITS NOT VARSITY LIKE IN THE U.S., ITS SPLIT UP INTO JUNIOR AND SENIOR LEAGUES. AND MOST SCHOOLS (IN MY CITY) ONLY HAVE ABOUT 800-1200 KIDS, NOT LIKE 5000

so since youre from canadia, hows your hockey team? Do you have a lumberjacking team? I bet if those teams were really good you would have much more pride in your school.

School size has little to do with the quality of the sports teams though...so dont use that correlation cause it aint true.

If anyone in canada plays football youd know its a joke. I joined the team a day before the first game and had no idea what to do. Our RB got injured so i got thrown in and and was just handed the ball and started running. Got about 12 td's last season and my team lost every fucking game. Me and my freind were the only 2 good kids on the team. I injured at least 2 kids a game, and broke one kids leg. Best part about football though was playing LB and all the practice of hitting that works so well for hockey.

A SCHOOL WITH 5X MORE KIDS WILL HAVE MORE ATHLETES. IF THERE ARE MORE ATHLETES THEN MORE PEOPLE WILL TRY OUT FOR TEAMS, THUS THE TEAMS WILL HAVE BETTER PLAYERS BECAUSE THE BETTER ONES WILL GET PICKED.

pretty much all of the great teams in high school football come from fairly small schools.... Larger schools tend to be in inner cities, where taking a sport very seriously all year round just doesnt happen...unless its basketball. The football teams that are really good in high school are either private school powerhouses, or medium size public schools that live, breathe and eat high school football.

You only think that is cool if it hasn't happened to you.  In eigth grade I got knocked out when I didn't call for a fair catch on a punt return.  I haven't played football since.  It's kind of tragic how easily a football career can be ended.

I've been on the other end of those collisions more times than I can count. I'm just not a pussy.
But yes it is sad how quickly careers can be ended. Our All-State defensive lineman broke his arm in our last game last year and cost him a division 1 scholarship.

wait you didn't call for a fair catch and got knocked out? I'm sorry man but its your own fault....I made varsity football my sophomore year only to return punts and I loved that shit...some times I got absolutely throttled, but it was so much fun to make them miss a tackle.


I miss playing football...it was a blast you had a reason to chill with your buddies every day after school for 2 - 3 hours...and nothing is more fun than playing under the lights on friday night.

Did I say that I hate soccer or something? I like both and have great appreciation for both...which apparently you don't. I can watch any sport and admire the skill, passion and pride involved and not make heinous claims that it is "boring".

Don't fucking look at a thread about football and think to yourself, "Oh, I think football is boring...I'm going to make sure all these football players and spectators know that."

i love football but i hate the attitudes that most of the players have... not all but most. even the ones that aren't good at football that sit on the bench seem to have that elitist jock vibe. i also can't stand the hating on soccer. in my school at least, nobody on the soccer team hates on football but most of the football kids have the "soccer is gay" or "they're all pussies" mindset. not saying that this is any of you guys but just what i witness at my school

The members of my school's football team are drastically dwindling.. Mainly because the coach's attitude is like,"Football should be you're primary priority in life as of this time." Nobody really likes that so a LOT of people left the team.

The sport is incredibly dangerous though; there are so many injuries, and many former football players later develop brain problems because of all the hard hits.
