Mine has the red rings too, but not due to overheating. Different problem. /mad since I had it for over 5 years.

Two options.

Option 1. Order the kit I linked and repair it.

Option 2. Rap in towels and repeatedly microwave for 15 seconds with intervals of 5 seconds.

I have the same. Overheated it to make it work again. Lasted 20 minutes. It's most likely an internal error but try a different av cable first

One of those kits would work, but you can just go to the hardware store and get the stuff you need a lot easier.

I fixed mine by just removing the xbraces and redoing the thermal compound, then heated the GPU by blocking its airflow from the fan with paper. It worked for a while, but it RRODed again eventually. I tried heating the GPU directly with a heat gun after that, but it wouldn't fix the whiskering. If the attempts don't work you need to get some no-clean flux and reflux the solder that holds the GPU on. Then hit it with a heat gun. The repeated heating and attempted fixes kill the solder where it won't conduct enough without refluxing it. After refluxing it had been running great now.

Moral of the story is, I agree. fix it yourself. It's pretty simple. Just browse around online for tips.
