you might be right.

but i also doubt they got the fuck out of there when they made eye contact with said bear.

people stick around, video tape them, see how close they can get, pet them etc etc. i understand that in rare instances these things happen, but i struggle to understand how you can not avoid getting eaten.

i have seen lots o bears, big ones, small ones, brown ones, black ones, angry bears, happy bears, and the occasional yogi, and i for one have never been eaten because i dont stick around long enough to get ate.

seeing bear = peace out.

however this is not a very detailed story. im just assuming what the writed left out.

I get what you are saying and agree completely.

But remember that the mama bear had cubs with her. And even if they did try to get away chances are that she wouldn't let them and was just protecting her cubs.

Or maybe the people aren't the only crazy fuckers in Russia. I have heard of bear attacks, but never heard of them eating someone.

I saw a bear on a hike once. Right when we saw it he turned around. Halfway down the hike and the bear was about the same distance away as he was when he saw him. Fucker was following us...

i think youre talkin about the movie grizzly man. awesome flick but im pretty sure it wasnt caught on film, the dude didnt have time to take off the lens cap but there was an audio recording of the whole thing. the recording was discarded for obvious reasons tho.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather spend the last painful moments of my life trying to fight off a bear that is attacking me rather than trying to phone a friend. This isn't who wants to be a millionare it's frickin death match with a bear, put the phone down for cryin out loud.

completely agree. you'd never find me on the phone describing how a bear is eating me alive. i would be punching and kicking the damn thing until it either gave up or until i bled out.

Their noses are super sensitive. A solid one or two hits there makes for a good chance that it will back off.

I never said that the bear wont bite/scratch you. But it can be the difference between life and death when it has you pinned on the ground.

That is fucking horrible. I couldn't imagine what was going through her mother's mind as she was helplessly hearing her daughter getting eaten by a bear. I don't know why the girl would call her mom.. If I were attacked by a bear I am pretty sure calling my mom wouldn't be on my list of priorities.

I'm kind of surprised they got that close to the bear to begin with, are they a little silly? You can generally hear a bear from a decent distance and get the fuck out.

This is why you take bear bangers, spray etc. when you go hiking/camping/whatnot. Bears aren't anything to fuck with especially a momma with her cubs.

Actually if the bear knew they were there and did not want them to see or hear it, they wouldn't. Aniomals like bears and wolves can be surprisingly quiet if they don't want o be noticed.

I almost crashed my bike into a bear yesterday. Came around the corner and slammed on the breaks. Got within about 5 ft of him but he just titled his head and looked at me like a stupid asshole.

That's why whenever I'm in the woods camping or anything I try to have my mag-lite and a knife on me, I know it's a slim chance but that would be the most badass story if you got attacked by a bear and killed it with a mag-lite and a knife
