my fingers and feet are covered in blisters, hands from shoveling and working the rock rigging and toes and heels from my new boots. (steel toes are a little bent down at the back and rub the skin off the base of my toes.) i dont really feel them unless i poke them. the ones that are still blistery are fine but the ones that have popped and had the skin peeled back sting like stab wounds when dirt gets in them or if i poke them. they dont sting when i wear the boots though.
to prevent them use body glide, used on my arches when i was doing distance running last year and it works wonders, similar for cleats, it is in a stick like deodorant, rub it all over plug your nose, put your cleats on and you are good to go.
