So my best friend got a girlfriend..

And now he is super whipped. He ditched me on my birthday to hang out with her. He missed the first two weeks of football practice to go on vacation with he and her family. He is no longer any fun to hang out with because all he does is text her. I went to his house on time when she was there and all that happened was they did things on the couch next to me while I watched TV. Seriously.. how can being in a heterosexual relationship make a guy so gay? Anyone else have this happen to them?

Happens a lot with first relationships. He will eventually see that friends are just as important. I'd say just be harsh about it, call him a little bitch, stop hanging with him, and he'll probably realize this earlier.

I'm pretty sure this happens with all first relationships; I know I did it and so did my friends.

Trust me, after a while he'll see what he has been doing and start hanging out with you guys more, for some people it happens when they're still in the relationship, others after it ends.

Same thing happened to me man, we'd chill all the time and as soon as he got a girlfriend it's like that was his life, he doesn't really ski anymore and if he does she's always there too, if he asks me to hang out and we do his girlfriend is there, and he doesn't really have friends anymore just her and maybe a few others. It's real gay shit but once they start getting boring and whipped it's not fun to chill with them anymore anyways. Oh and me and my buddy were friends for like 12 year and now we never chill but sometimes talk

ah yes. this is the time in your life when you learn who your real friends are.

it blows, i have old friends i havnt spoke to since they got a gf, but all my true buddies are still around despite also having gfs.

and bottom line, if his gf was really that cool, he would bring her out to chill with you and the rest of his buddies. there is always time for lone time/ sexy time.

atleast thats how my group works, the men drink, and all their gfs quack about cupcakes, knitting, periods, etc.

Well this shit has been going on for about a year now, I hardly skied with him at all this winter because he was too busy sitting in the chalet holding her hand. I've told him on various occasions to stop being such a little bitch but he is too absorbed in her and he blows me off. Fag. So now I'll usually hang out with other friends and all we ever do is talk shit about how much of a pussy he has become lol.

exact same thing happened to my friend. it especially sucks cuz im leaving for college in like 2 weeks and i just want to be able to hang out with him before i have to go. if you just talk to him about it then he'll probably realize what he's doing and spend more time with you... hopefully

I'm just asking because I was in your situation a bit ago with my best friend but it was partially because his GF at the time was a controlling psycho bitch. Now he has a new GF so well see if he starts to disappear again. If he does, i'll talk to him about it. he knows that I hated his last GF and he's already told me that it will be different this time so we shall see.

Well I have told him what he is dong and that he pretty much ditched me, over text message that is. Then he will say we should hang out or something, so I go to his house to go wakeboarding and his lovely girlfriend is there, which means I get put out of the picture.

My friends and I do something called the three month rule.

Starting the day your friend starts dating her, you give him three months of leniency. That means that he can bail on a last minute notice and have permission to put her first.

This works well. Typically, his "addiction" to her will chill out way before then. After those three months, you will typically have him back.

If it's still new, and it's his first relationship...then he's riding the high of infatuation and easy access. It won't last long, and even if it lasts much longer you can just tell him how you feel. However, I feel like just wait for the excitement to fade and he'll be back

Hey man try to see it from his perspective. He's trying to establish a new relationship which obviously requires time. Then all of a sudden the people who he thought were his friends are totally incapable of being happy for him and instead turn on him and start talking shit about him. So where does he turn? To the one person not being a douche, his girlfriend. Sure it is tough to learn to balance your time when you first start dating someone but the last thing he needs is you being a dick. If you want your friend back try being nice or invite his girlfriend along. He'll eventually start hanging out with you again, just give him time. The real person ruining the friendship is you for not being able to support your boy. Blowing off your bday is a dick move though...I just get tired of hearing this same shit over and over but the person bitching has no fucking clue what it's like to be on the other end.

I have friends who keep repeating this behaviour every single time they get involved with something that you can stick your penis in.

Me and my best girlfriend both talked about how much this sucks before we got involved with our exes or current bf's, so we are very aware of not prioritizing wrong.
