I love it. I mean it's my first board and i kind of went into ordering it blind. I got it with bear grizzlies, sector nine dual durometers, and bones reds. Good turn out for not knowing anything if i don't say so myself.
i have a sector 9 punta lobos thats all bamboo with sector 9 nineball wheels and abec 9's. longboarding is shit. it makes the summer without skiing a little better.
I mean, dervishes are flexy as fuck and fairly fun, but unless you want to do a pretty large amount of dancing, go with something else. I love my landyachtz 9two5 personally, but it's really all about what you want to do. wheels will make a big difference as well.
Is his a dropdeck as well? I've ridden my friend's switch as well and a dropdeck has a very different feel from a dropmount, which is what my board is. If it is, and you're used to it, go for it!
Sorry for the dub post but I went from riding a top mount to the switches huge drop and it wasn't very hard to get used to. By the first few minutes it felt natural. On another note I cant stand the feeling of drop thrus/dropmounts, but I guess I'm weird like that.
To each there own. I went from an original malakai to the 9two5, and had no problem, I'm just making sure that he's buying a board that's similar to what he likes. If he's been riding a dropspeed or something like that and loves it, he probably will be a bit weirded out if he buys a switch.
That's a good point but whatever he gets whether its a switch or 9two5 it doesn't really matter. they are both great boards and he will probably love either one of them.
