Skiing or the girl?

Well, a couple of my homies had invited me to go up to Vermont with them for a week over Christmas break where we'd hit up Mount Snow everyday and stay in this really dope house.  However, my girlfriend wants me to go down to South Carolina with her and her family that same week to see the rest of her family.  I'm in a predicament. Help me out, guys.

just tell her that you already made an obligation to your friends and cannot go back on your word. also tell her that you wish you could go, are gonna miss her during that week, and you will make it up to her someday.

this. just say that you've already payed a big amount of money for the condo and the lift tickets, and there is no way to get refunded. just make sure all your "homies" are on speaking terms with the girl, and they know the "story" to tell her, so that no mixed messages are crossed.

tell her straight up, you have a skiing vs GF ultimatum. you can hang out with her in the summer all she wants but its the winter and thats skiing time. (you have been married to skiing for longer then you have known this girl and for much longer afterwards) why would you lose some of the little winter we already have to be with her and her family at the most inconvenient time. tell her that you are enjoying the winter/skiing on this trip that you have been planning for months (or since before she asked you to join her)
you would love to spend time with her, but the week with her family is an absolute fucking no go.

unless you are marrying this girl then dont give up skiing.

the only reasonable answer for you to go to NC would be if you guys were in a rough patch. it would show that shes trying to make an effort to fix things. but since it seems everything is ok, go skiing. my cousin went last season and loved it. also make sure you dont leave this thread open when she is over or else that will start shit.

Just to bring a second side to this discussion.
Skiing with your bros may be fun, but you have to look at her view too. Does she really want you to come with her to the family thing in SC? If she really wants you to go with her, then maybe you should consider sacrificing the ski trip. If she is okay with you not going then go ski. The biggest thing I can see in this dilemma is choosing between you or her.

I would recommend talking with her, be honest. say that you want to go on the ski trip, but that if she really does want you to come to SC with her, then you will go. Usually in this case she will say to go on your ski trip. If she doesn't, then you have a "get out of jail free card" for the next time you want to go do something. Just remember to be honest. She will probably appreciate your honesty; whereas, if you lie and say that you can't get out of the ski trip and she later finds out you where being dishonest with her the repercussions would probably much worse.


TL;DR: Be honest.

dude all you need your g/f is for sex. personally when i'm skiing i can go days (if theres pow its weeks) on end with no sex.

Well, Charleston is a really sick place. Probably the best in SC so it's a toss up. Tell her that climate change is shortening winters around the world and you need to savor the snow while you can.

This is what I would suggest. However, considering she's clearly already mentioned going to NC with her, and the fact that you most likely didn't bring the ski trip up THAT time means that next time you guys talk about it, she'll probably think you're just being an asshole by saying you've been planning this all year.

If you had been planning it, you would've brought it up the first time lol

mt. snow over xmas break will be a mad house. even if they do get any decent snow shit will get tracked out instantly. not worth it in my opinion, go to jay or mad river instead, way too many weekend warriors at the big southern VT mountains, plus lift tickets at the northern VT mountains are much more reasonable
