all for only 120$... definitely check out garage sales if you have the time. They can often be well worth it!

Cinekodak Reliant film movie camera. from sometime around the beginning of the 50's I believe. Shoots 16mm double-perf film I think... Don't know if I'll ever get to shoot on it (expensive to process!) but I'd love to try a roll. It works like it was made yesterday; things were made so much better back then.
and believe it or not,l I got this one for free!

I was reading this blog post once, where this lady ( a photographer ) went to a yard sale, and she picked up a lens tube that happens to have a canon 500mm L lens in it. It belonged to the guys deceased wife and he didn't know anything about it, and so he sold it to her for 20$! crazy!

Chai. Usually has a different icon it is just because of the icon uploader glitches it switches his icon back and forth from this and his new one haha

I know a kid who got a working hasselblad for 15 dollars at some type of estate sale. It's got an 80mm, waistlevel and a12 back. And a leather case. He's fucking lucky.

NO ONE would sell that lens for 20 dollars. Even someone who knows absolutely nothing about cameras knows that white lenses=EXPENSIVE.

not really, no.



when older people who know nothing about cameras/lenses hear i paid somewhere around $400 for my canon 85mm f/1.8, a lot of times they can't believe it and say they didn't even know lenses could cost that much.

You'd be surprised.

I talked to a guy in Vancouver who found a 1973 HIWATT DR103 amp head (fyi same model used by Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd). They are worth about $3-$5k depending on the condition, and this old guy sold him a mint one for $400.

If you watch pawn stars, a lot of the people that sell shit on that show get it at garage sales for ridiculously old prices. Most people infer that if it's old, it's not worth much.

My foray into photography was because of a garage sale. Basically mint condish Canon AE-1 with a FD 50mm 1.8, two brand new in box Canon Speedlites, and a brand new in box auto film winder. plus a bunch of other shit for $20. Garage sales ftw

Craigslist can be equally lucrative sometimes. I just bought an old Pentax film body with a SMC 50mm f1.4 on it for 15 bucks.
